The Secret To Happy Patients: Appreciation Day
Northern Kentucky Cosmetic Dentistry Office Passes Out Sweet Treats!
In February, packages of chocolates, flowers and love are in the air, that’s why we thought it was fitting to show our love with a few sweet treats for Surprise Patient Appreciation Day! It’s once a month, and the day is a surprise.
Our packages included starbursts, heart-shaped chocolates and smiley face cookies. Since it was Surprise Patient Appreciation Day, we thought a little sugar was well deserved, as long as it is eaten in moderation!
DentalBlu gives the “okay” for sugar—in moderation
Most people think dentists hate sugar—that’s not entirely true. We dislike the tooth decay and gum disease, which can be caused by the excessive intake of sugary and acidic food. If sugar is eaten in moderation, it’s much easier to maintain oral health.
How to eat sugar in moderation:
- Pick a natural sugar source, such as strawberries, apples or cantaloupe (these three are low in sugar)
- Keep an eye out for snacks with high sugar content
- Drink a glass of water before eating anything sweet
- Rinse mouth out afterwards
Don’t entirely cut sugar out of your diet. In reality, your body and brain need sugar to function.
When is the next Patient Appreciation Day?
