Dr. Depp is Now Using Oral Cancer Screening Device to Help Prevent, Detect, and Fight Oral Cancer!
Dr. Depp is now using a revolutionary oral cancer screening device to detect any suspicious changes in the cells of the mouth, throat, tongue, and tonsils that may potentially led to oral cancer.
The oral cancer screening device will help Dr. Depp and her staff reduce patient incidence of early cancer through early detection. This device detects biochemical and morphological changes in the cells of the mouth, throat , tongue, and tonsils. The small, cordless, handheld device uses a three wave-length optical illumination and visualization system that allows dental professionals to identify oral mucosal abnormalities that may not be visable to the naked eye.
According to Dr. Depp "We are very pleased to be one of the first dental practices in the area to utilize this technology to provide our patients with a more comprehensive and accurate oral exam. Because the signs and symptoms of oral cancer often cannot be seen by the naked eye, our screening device enables me to do just that-identify changes in the mouth that may be a sign of something more serious."
Close to 37,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year. Oral cancer will cause over 8,000 deaths, killing roughly 1 person per hour, 24 hours per day. The main reason for these grim statistics is not because oral cancer is hard to diagnose, but because it is diagnosed too late-when it is in its advanced stages.
